Esperanza not only beat out the Biebs, but also Drake, Florence and the Machine and Mumford & Sons. Okay I have no idea who Mumford & Sons is, but come on, Biebs and Drake?!

And Esperanza was just as shocked to hear her name as we were. She looked at her brother in disbelief like wow is this really happening? Cute moment.
During her acceptance speech she thanked all the teachers that helped her get where she is now--teachers who taught her about music when she was just 5 years old.

"I know I don't have a lot of time, so first, thank you to the academy for even nominating me in this category," she said. "Thank you to the incredible community and family of musicians I'm so blessed to be a part of... my friends in Portland, all my teachers, colleagues... my beautiful family who's here," she continued, before naming names.
